Belo Names Bieri Chief Information Officer
Former EDS and Feld Group executive to head-up enterprise-wide technology initiatives
DALLAS Belo Corp. (NYSE: BLC) announced today that Matthew B. ("Matt") Bieri has been named Chief Information Officer of A. H. Belo Corporation. Bieri will be responsible for the Company's enterprise-wide technology initiatives. He will report to Donald F. "Skip" Cass, executive vice president of A. H. Belo Corporation.
Bieri joins A. H. Belo from EDS, where he most recently served as vice president/Global Delivery for EDS' human resources outsourcing organization which provides human resource support to mid and large-sized companies around the world. From May 2004 through May 2006, Bieri was tasked with standardizing the processes and tools used across all of EDS' data centers located worldwide. His association with EDS began after it purchased Bieri's previous employer, The Feld Group, in 2004. The Feld Group served as consultants specializing in assisting companies in reorganizing and transforming their technology and IT organizations. From 1997 through 2004, Bieri both consulted with clients and served in their organizations as CIO or Chief Development Officer. During his tenure with The Feld Group, he worked with companies such as Delta Airlines, BMC Software, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Wellpoint Health Networks, Heidrick and Stuggles International, Inc. and Ameriserve.
Bieri began his career with Computer Science Corporation in 1981, serving as systems engineer and programmer responsible for developing software for the Space Shuttle program before moving on to Raytheon Company, where he served as a software development and integration manager for the Ballistic Missile Early Warning Radar developed for the U.S. Air Force Space Command.

A. H. Belo Corporation is the newly-formed company resulting from Belo Corp's previously announced spin-off of its newspaper businesses and related assets into a publicly-traded company. The spin-off is expected to be completed on February 8, 2008.
